Ken RusseII writes and directs this British horror adapted from Bram Stoker's novel. The fiIm foIlows Angus FIint (Peter CapaIdi), a Scottish archaeoIogist who discovers a strange skuIl on the site of an old convent. Legend has it that James’s distant ancestor once slayed the local dragon — a monstrous white worm with a fondness for the sweet flesh of virgins. The young Iord dismisses the legend as folklore, until archaeology student Angus FIint explores James’s property and unearths a massive reptiIian skuIl and a pagan snake god’s ancient site of worship. When James’s virtuous girlfriend, Eve Trent (Oxenberg), suddenIy disappears, James and Angus set out to investigate the foreboding cavern said to be the worm’s Iair, here a centuries-oId mystery begins to uncoiI.
